ZELLWOOD, Fla. – A 41-year-old Orlando man driving a pickup truck through Zellwood died after crashing into a stopped tractor trailer early Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 3 a.m. as the man drove east on Jones Avenue, east of Laughlin Road, troopers said, adding the tractor trailer was stopped facing north at a driveway on Jones Avenue.

According to an FHP crash report, the Orlando man lost control of the pickup truck, which ran off the roadway right as the left side of the vehicle struck the left side of the tractor trailer.

The Orlando man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, the report states. Troopers believe he was not wearing a seat belt in the crash.

The driver of the tractor trailer, a 70-year-old Apopka man, was not hospitalized in the crash and remained at the scene, troopers said.
