Woman, 25, killed when car crashes into pickup truck on I-4 in Orange County

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 25-year-old woman was killed early Tuesday in a crash with a pickup truck on Interstate 4 in Orange County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 12:20 a.m. on I-4 westbound near mile marker 72.

According to an FHP crash report, the Kissimmee woman was traveling west in a Hyundai Elantra on I-4 from Sand Lake Road through an active construction lane closure and approached an unoccupied pickup truck that was facing south on the interstate.

The front of her vehicle struck the left back of the pickup, causing the Elantra to rotate and collide with the left side of the truck, troopers said.

The woman was partially thrown out of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.

According to the crash report, the woman was not wearing a seat belt.

An investigation is ongoing.
