ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 41-year-old man from Kissimmee was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday near Orlando, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 3:14 a.m. on Orange Blossom Trail, south of Taft Vineland Road, troopers said.
According to an FHP crash report, the man was driving an SUV in the inside northbound lane of Orange Blossom Trail when he failed to maintain the lane and struck a concrete center median. The driver overcorrected to the right and the SUV ran off the roadway before striking a curb, then a light pole, ultimately overturning onto its roof, the report states.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the FHP. Troopers believe he was not wearing a seat belt.
FHP is still investigating.
