MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Two drivers were killed Wednesday when their vehicles crashed head-on in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on County Road 315, near its intersection with NE 222nd Street, troopers said.
According to an FHP crash report, a van being driven northbound on C.R. 315 by a 55-year-old Interlachen man crossed the center line and traveled into the southbound lane, entering the direct path of an SUV being driven south by a 38-year-old Fort McCoy woman.

The vehicles collided head-on as a result and both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said, adding the Fort McCoy woman was the only driver involved who was wearing a seat belt during the crash.
