ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 42-year-old Chuluota man was killed in a rollover crash early Friday in east Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred on Fort Christmas Road near W Christmas Road, troopers said, adding the exact time of the crash is under scrutiny.
According to an FHP crash report, the man was traveling southbound on Fort Christmas Road, approaching W Christmas Road, and was driving above the posted speed limit.
The man failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the roadway as a result, causing his vehicle — a 2018 Chrysler 300 — to strike a stop sign, trees and a wire fence before overturning and ejecting him.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said, adding he was not wearing a seat belt during the crash.
FHP is still investigating.
