68-year-old motorcyclist killed in Orange County crash, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened at the crash happened on State Road 520 at Taylor Creek Road in the Christmas area around 1:40 p.m.

According to a crash report, a Nissan Frontier was stopped, facing south at a stop sign on Taylor Creek Road at the intersection of State Road 520.

At the same time, a Honda motorcycle was traveling west on State Road 520, approaching Taylor Creek Road.

According to the report, the pickup truck attempted to make a left turn to head east on State Road 520 and entered the direct path of the motorcycle.

As a result, the front of the truck collided with the motorcycle.

Troopers said the motorcyclist, identified as a 68-year-old Orlando man, was taken to ORMC where he was pronounced dead.

The truck’s driver and passenger, identified as a 42-year-old Orlando man and a 64-year-old Orlando woman, were not injured and remained at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
