18-year-old motorcyclist killed in Orange County crash, troopers say

Crash happened on SR-436 and Oleander Drive

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 8:09 p.m. on State Road 436 and Oleander Drive.

According to a crash report, the motorcyclist and a 2021 BMW 330I were both heading south on SR-436.

The motorcycle was behind the BMW when it began to slow down for traffic ahead and the front of the motorcycle collided with the back of the vehicle, troopers said.

The motorcyclist, an 18-year-old Orlando man, was transported to Advent Health East Orlando, where he was pronounced dead. According to the crash report, he was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the BMW, a 73-year-old Orlando woman, was not injured and remained at the scene, according to the FHP.

The crash remains under investigation.
