PINE HILLS, Fla. – A 20-year-old Orlando man died after the sedan he was driving through Pine Hills struck a concrete pole Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 7:40 a.m. along Pine Hills Road, north of Balboa Drive, troopers said.
According to an FHP crash report, the man was driving southbound when he lost control of the sedan while negotiating a curve in the outside lane. The sedan ran off the roadway to the right and struck a concrete utility pole, the report states.
The driver was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to FHP. Troopers believe he was wearing a seat belt during the crash.
FHP is still investigating.
