ORLANDO, Fla. – Three people are dead after the vehicle they were driving in lost control and overturned in Orlando Thursday evening.
North Hiawassee Road in the area of Hiawassee Meadows Drive is shut down in both directions and the Florida Highway Patrol says it may be for some time while troopers investigate.

FHP says three people were traveling in a 2003 Jeep Liberty along North Hiawassee Road when the vehicle lost control in the area of Hiawassee Meadows Drive, and crossed the median into the path of a 2019 RAM pickup truck.
Troopers say witnesses saw the Jeep overturning as it hit the truck. The driver of the Jeep was ejected and died. Two other people in the Jeep were also pronounced dead.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
