Police seek info on vehicle involved in Cocoa hit-and run that injured woman on e-bike

Crash happened at intersection of SR-520, Washington Avenue

COCOA, Fla. – Cocoa police are asking the public’s help with information about a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run Thursday that left a woman on an e-bike injured.

Police said the crash happened just after 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of S.R. 520 and Washington Avenue.

According to a news release, a woman on an e-bike was traveling east in the bike lane on S.R. 520. As she crossed the intersection at Washington Avenue, she was struck by a silver Dodge Caravan that was also travelling eastbound on S.R. 520, and turning to go southbound on Washington Ave.

Police said the woman suffered a broken wrist in the crash.

According to the release, the driver of the silver minivan pulled into the Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot and got out of the vehicle to check on the victim but left the scene before emergency crews arrived.

Cocoa police said they would like to question the driver of the Dodge Caravan.

The vehicle is believed to be a 2008-2012 model similar to the one pictured below:
