Brevard Public Schools says the bus was taking fifth graders from Apollo Elementary School in Titusville back after a field trip to Patrick Space Force Base when the chartered bus caught fire.

All of the students were evacuated and are safe. The school district is sending buses to pick the students up.

The incident remains under under investigation, the FHP said.
