Police seek info after juvenile airlifted to hospital

MELBOURNE, Fla. – A juvenile is in the hospital after being struck by two vehicles in Melbourne on Sunday, according to police.

It happened around 12:46 p.m. in the area of Sarno Road and Garfield Street, the Melbourne Police Department said in a news release.

Brevard County Fire Rescue took the juvenile to Sarno Plaza due to concern over their injuries before they were then airlifted to a hospital in Orlando, the release states, adding the juvenile appears to be stable at the time of this report.

The juvenile had been attempting to cross Sarno Road when they were struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound in the curb lane with a green light, police said. The impact sent the juvenile into a second lane, at which point they were struck by another vehicle and knocked into the grass on the south side of Sarno Road, the release states.
