According to an FHP crash report, an SUV was traveling north in the left lane when the driver lost control. The vehicle rotated counterclockwise and veered off the left side of the roadway. The front of the vehicle collided with a guardrail, overturning and coming to rest on its roof in the inside lane.
During the crash, a passenger — a 40-year-old Orlando man — was ejected from the rear of the vehicle and landed in the left southbound lane of I-95, where they were struck by passing vehicles, according to FHP.
All other occupants of the vehicle — including the driver — suffered minor injuries. Troopers believe only the driver and an injured passenger were wearing a seatbelt.
All lanes were blocked for several hours following the crash, but eventually reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
