The vehicle drove off after the crash, troopers said.

The rider was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the FHP said.

Troopers said the vehicle is possibly black and should have damage to the front grill and broken headlights.

Westbound lanes of Sand Lake Road were shut down Wednesday morning as troopers continued investigating the wreck. Troopers were still on scene as of 7:40 a.m., but there was no further indication of slowdowns in the area. Before long, FHP stated the road was clear.
