OCALA, Fla. – Six people were sent to the hospital after a crash involving four vehicles Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 75 in Ocala, according to firefighters.
The crash happened around 4:49 p.m. near mile marker 351, Ocala Fire Rescue said in a news release.

Ocala firefighters were joined at the scene by Florida Highway Patrol, Road Ranger, Ocala police and Marion County firefighters, the release states, adding an FHP trooper was first on scene.
First responders located the following four vehicles with varying amounts of damage:
- A silver pickup truck had moderate front-end damage and a fuel leak, with the driver in the vehicle.
- A black sedan with heavy rear-end damage and some front-end damage was positioned against the guardrail. There were two adults and one minor in the vehicle during the crash.
- A maroon SUV had moderate front and rear end damage. One adult and two minors were in the vehicle during the crash.
- A gold SUV was overturned on its roof. Only the driver — who wasn’t trapped — was inside.
The driver from the silver pickup truck and the minor from the black sedan were transported as trauma alerts to the hospital, officials said.
The other individuals, including one adult from the black sedan and all three occupants of the maroon SUV, were taken for further medical evaluation, according to the release.
All three northbound lanes were temporarily blocked, causing some 90 minutes of traffic disruptions before the road was cleared, according to the release.
