ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 4:44 a.m. along Lake Pickett Road, south of Priest Court, troopers said.
According to an FHP crash report, a 2019 Nissan Versa driven by a 23-year-old Orlando woman was traveling northbound on Lake Pickett Road when the woman lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason.
The driver overcorrected and the Nissan ran off the roadway to the right, striking a mailbox and a culvert before becoming airborne and hitting a tree, the report states.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said, adding she was wearing a seat belt during the crash.
FHP is still investigating.
