MELBOURNE, Fla. – At least one person was injured Wednesday in a crash that has prompted the closure of U.S. 1, just south of NASA Boulevard, in Melbourne, police said.

Melbourne police said one person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police advised drivers to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.

All southbound lanes of U.S. 1 have reopened.
