ORLANDO, Fla. – Ales, lagers, IPAs, stouts, you name it and you’ll find it this weekend at a couple festivals in Central Florida.
And these festivals are happening before National Beer Day, which is on Monday, April 7. The day commemorates when the Cullen-Harrison Act — which legalized the sale of beer and wine — went into effect in 1933.

Here are some festivals happenings in Central Florida:
Orlando
The Beer ‘Merica and Beyond craft beer festival will happen on Saturday, April 5, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Gaston Edwards Park in Orlando’s Ivanhoe Village.
Some of the breweries participating in this event include Carib Brewery, New Holland Brewing and Motorworks Brewing.
There will also be live music from a few performers and food to enjoy as well as a fireworks display at the end of the night.
According to event organizers, this event can help support the 2650 Foundation, an organization that “supports and trains our local firefighters who put their lives in harm’s way to save lives.”
This organization was started to honor the life of Austin Duran, an Apopka firefighter who died after being injured on the job.

DeLand
Dozens of breweries will set up in downtown DeLand for the the DeLand Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, April 5, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
According to the event’s website, this festival was started back in 2010 “by two local beer enthusiasts, Todd Carpenter and Vinnie Morrissey, to create an experience for the then up & coming Craft Beer category (which) has evolved into one of the most premiere events in Volusia County for the last 15 years.”
