ORLANDO, Fla. – Two new Orlando restaurants have received the coveted Michelin Bib Gourmand award: Sushi Saint and Zaru.

Both eateries were named in the guide earlier this year, but the Bib Gourmand award is given to notable restaurants at a reasonable price. Meanwhile, there are 11 other restaurants in the Orlando area with this award as well.

“These restaurant selections prepare bold specialties with precision and intentionality, all at an excellent value. Our inspectors delighted in the impressive flavors and are confident that foodies – both local and from afar – will too,” Gwendal Poullennec, the international director of the Michelin Guides, said in a statement.

Sushi Saint opened its doors in 2023, located at 400 Pittman Street. Michelin Star chef Mike Collantes is the owner of the spot.

The restaurant is roughly 2,500 square feet and offers hand-roll sushi, sake-based cocktails and other small bites. There is a lounge area, a 12-seat bar and a private omakase room.

For $100, patrons can enjoy the private omakase room, which serves a 12-course meal.

“We designed this more affordable omakase offering with a wider audience in mind. This omakase option enables the chefs at Sushi Saint to unleash their creativity while fostering a casual, vibrant ambiance for our guests to enjoy,” Collantes said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Zaru is a Japanese restaurant in the Mills 50 district, located at 1114 E. Colonial Drive.

This eatery also opened its doors last year. It serves different types of noodle dishes, with its Nikutama Udon being the crowd favorite. The noodles are made from wheat sourced from Japan, according to a news release.

All in all, the two Orlando restaurants will join the other award winners at the 2024 ceremony on Thursday in Tampa.
