Holly Hill Interim Police Chief Jeff Miller said at least one person got out of a vehicle and fired several shots from a high-caliber weapon through the apartment walls and windows, striking the women, who were in separate bedrooms.
The victims were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to their legs, Miller said.
Bullets also flew into two other occupied apartments, but no one else was injured, Miller said.
