Video from Daytona Beach shows roads flooded

City was under flood warning until 7 p.m. Friday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach was under a flood warning until 7 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Roadways were flooded after 4 to 6 inches of rain fell throughout Friday, especially in the area of U.S. 92 near the Halifax River.

Video from International Speedway Boulevard showed roads completely covered in water, which appeared to be nearly ankle-deep.

Not far from there, along South Segrave Street, the water appeared to reach the front bumper of cars in some spots along the road.

Daytona Beach police posted a list of flooded roads on its Facebook page. They included:

  • Nova Road
  • Clyde Morris Boulevard
  • George Engram Boulevard
  • Beville Road
  • Beach Street
  • Ridgewood Avenue (US 1)
  • International Speedway Boulevard (US 92)
  • Atlantic Avenue (A1A)
  • Bellevue Avenue
  • Jean Street
  • South Caroline Street
  • Segrave Street
  • Fairview Avenue

Drivers were warned to be cautious while driving, and to avoid areas where they are unsure of the water’s depth.

At least 24 vehicles were left disabled from the flooding, and eight accidents were reported Friday night, according to Daytona Beach police.
