He was promoted to sergeant in January 2020 and was a beloved member of the Bunnell community.

“This is a day of sorrow and tragedy. The death of Dominic Guida is a profound loss to the City and the Bunnell Police Department,” Bunnell Mayor Catherine Robinson said in a statement.

City Manager Alvin B. Jackson, Jr. agreed that Guida’s loss leaves a hole in the heart of the city’s police department.

“He was truly a kind, humble, fun loving and lively Police Sergeant ... My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Dominic, our Police Chief and our officers,” Jackson said.
