1 dead, 2 seriously injured in head-on crash in Volusia County, troopers say

Crash happened on West New York, Old New York avenues

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – One person died and two others were seriously injured in a head-on crash in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said two pickup trucks crashed on West New York and Old New York Avenues at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday. Officials said one truck, driven by a 76-year-old DeLand woman, was traveling west when she went into the eastbound lane and hit the front of the other truck.

The 76-year-old was taken to the hospital in critical condition where she later died.

A man and woman in the other truck, both 64 years old and from Eustis, were taken to the hospital in serious condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
