PALM COAST, Fla. – A 19-year-old man died Saturday morning after he was shot during an argument at a party in Palm Coast, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Following the death of Jamey “JuJu” Bennett, Jr., of Palm Coast, Sheriff Rick Staly asked parents in the community to speak with their children as deputies sought potential footage of the incident. A reward of $5,000 was offered by CrimeStoppers of Northeast Florida for information that leads to an arrest in the fatal shooting, according to a news release.

Deputies responded to a wooded area off of Old Kings Road North shortly before 2 a.m., where investigators said several dozen teenagers were at a party. An argument erupted at the party and led to the fatal shooting, deputies said.

Sheriff Staly said deputies requested help from the public in hopes that someone who was at the party recorded the shooting or the people involved.

“Parents, please speak with your children. Always know where your children are, who they are with and what they are doing. If they were out late last night, they may have the clue or video on their phone which could help us solve this case and find a killer,” Staly said.

The sheriff’s office is currently investigating the fatal shooting and more information will be presented as it becomes available, according to a news release.

Those with information about the incident were asked to contact the sheriff’s office by calling 386-313-4911, emailing TIPS@FlaglerSheriff.com or calling CrimeStoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477).
