Intense heat can cause steel railroad tracks to expand and buckle under extra stress. Trains reduce their speeds to put less force on the tracks, Business Insider reported.

Meteorologist Jonathan Kegges said the heat index at noon Friday was 105 to 115 degrees area-wide, as humidity worsens feels like temperatures. All of Central Florida is currently under a heat advisory.
