A man told deputies Andrew Buckley, 29, attacked him after the two, who are related, got into an argument over Buckley using a toaster oven to light a cigarette, investigators said.

Buckley knocked the man to the floor and began punching and biting the victim’s neck, deputies said. Buckley then wrapped his arm around the victim’s neck and began to choke him, records show.

Deputies said a woman, who was also a family member, tried to get Buckley to stop, eventually grabbing knife and stabbing Buckley in the back.

According to investigators, the woman told them Buckley is a known drug user and had been awake for several days prior to the attack, and she believed he was going to kill the victim.

While Buckley ran before deputies arrived, he was eventually tracked to a Shady Lane home in Daytona North and arrested, according to the sheriff’s office.

Buckley faces charges for domestic violence battery.
