Investigators said evidence suggests the man stabbed the woman and then himself. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, though the man was taken to the hospital, where he died about an hour later, detectives said.
Three children were also present, though none of them was injured, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff Mike Chitwood said the department was making arrangements with family members to make sure the children are taken care of.
“The children will need a lot of love and support as they deal with this tragedy today and for the rest of their lives,” Chitwood said in a social media post. “I am just so sorry for their pain.”
