Drive-by shooting video shared months after 2 killed at Titusville home

Family hoping video will finally lead to arrests

TITUSVILLE, Fla – Judging by what her family’s home surveillance shows, Brittany Henderson believes three gunmen could be responsible for killing her stepdaughter, 25-year-old Teressa Henderson, and her nephew, 17-year-old Drayontai Mason.

On Third Avenue back on March 9, Titusville police said Mason, the teenager, was playing video games when bullets from a drive-by shooting came through his window.

Henderson said the camera angles shared with News 6 Wednesday were from a different room in the home than the room Mason was in.

“Drayontai was 100-percent an innocent victim that had nothing to do with anything,” his aunt said. “He was in his home doing what a 17-year-old is supposed to be doing.”

Henderson hopes someone who watches the video will know who was in that car and she also hopes to raise awareness about all unsolved homicides in north Brevard County.

“Just in the past two years in Mims and Titusville alone, we have over 17 unsolved homicides of gun violence,” Henderson said.

The men seen on video returning fire toward the car were initially identified as Maurice Brown and Reshod Lewis.

Records show all charges against Brown are now dropped.

Brown’s family tells us he was misidentified.

A third shooting victim, an 18-year-old man, drove himself to the hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, according to police.

He was in stable condition, according to authorities.

Police only said Wednesday that the investigation is still open.

Anyone with information about any of the unsolved homicides can leave an anonymous tip with Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS and police can be reached at 321-264-7800.

Up to $5,000 could be rewarded for tips leading to an arrest.
