Deputies said they responded to the school, and with the help of a K9, conducted a search of the campus, determining there were no explosives, according to the statement. An “all clear” was given at 12:45 p.m., according to the district.

It was later determined that the threat stemmed from a false swatting call originating from a California phone number.

“We commend the students and staff who acted quickly when asked to relocate or remain in place. While it was a stressful situation, their cooperation allowed for a quick resolution by giving the FCSO deputies the space to do their job without added distractions,” the district said in a statement.

Deputies are still working to determine the caller behind the threat.

“We do not takes threat of this nature lightly,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “We thank the students and staff of MHS who adhered to Flagler School’s Code Blue plan and allowed us space to conduct a thorough search. Our investigation is continuing and if we can identify the caller they will face serious consequences and a trip to the Green Roof Inn. The safety of our students is paramount.”
