Woman ID’d as 49-year-old Erica Bergeron

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A missing woman’s body was found inside of her rental car in a pond near Palm Coast, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were able to remove the car and the Jacksonville woman from the pond.

The gray 2021 Toyota Camry located was the same vehicle that Bergeron was believed to be traveling in when she was reported missing, deputies said.

According to a crash report, Bergeron was driving northwest on Palm Harbor Parkway, southeast of Cris Lane when, for an unknown reason, she veered right and off the road. The sedan then struck a tree and landed in the pond, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Deputies said Bergeron had last been seen on Thursday at Palm Coast Lanes, a bowling alley located at 11 N. Old Kings Road.

“Sheriff Staly and FCSO extend our deepest condolences to the Bergeron family,” the sheriff’s office said in a tweet.
