DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police have asked the public to help them identify a woman described as a person of interest in a shooting that left three people injured.
Dispatchers at 11:48 p.m. Saturday began to receive reports of an altercation involving three to four people near 611 Seabreeze Blvd., according to a statement from the Daytona Beach Police Department. In the midst, someone who police described as “an unknown female” allegedly fired several shots from a handgun.

The three people who were shot suffered non-life-threatening injuries and no arrests have been made, police said.
Sunday morning, the police department shared surveillance stills on social media of a person of interest it’s now seeking, asking readers if they recognized the individual’s tattoos.

On July 13, a group of grieving Daytona Beach residents held a rally against gun violence at the corner of Park Drive and Martin Luther King Boulevard, the area where police said four people were shot.
Most of the residents who gathered had one thing in common: nearly half of the group had lost a loved one to gun violence.
LaShandra Miles, a community activist and founder of Turn Around Foundation said on Sunday that, ““This is my fight. And this is what I will be doing till the day I die.”
Her son, Lawrence Davis was killed in a shooting in March.
“Anytime I hear an act of violence, somebody losing their life, I will be there because I did lose my son to gun violence,” Miles said. “They should be held accountable for their actions. That’s the problem. Now, too many people [are] getting away with what they’re doing. And so why not shoot?”
Now, Miles fights for and supports families impacted by gun violence.
“Every time you look, somebody is being shot at or somebody is shooting at somebody getting killed. I just wish they would put the guns down,” she said. “We have to do something to take our community back, because we don’t feel safe here anymore.”
