LAKE WALES, Fla. – A Florida elementary school teacher was arrested Friday in Lake Wales on allegations of driving under the influence.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested Leslie Spence, 52, along State Road 60 after receiving a report just before 11 p.m. about a driver traveling at 25 mph and swerving across lanes.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop just west of U.S. 27 in Lake Wales.
Spence had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, and there was a strong odor of alcohol, deputies said.
After she was arrested, deputies say Spence provided two breath samples, both of which were well over twice the legal limit to drive in Florida.
Spence faces charges of driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of 0.15 or higher.
Spence is a third-grade teacher at a Pinellas County elementary school, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
