St. CLOUD, Fla. – Firefighters in St. Cloud reportedly rescued a man from a burning home Saturday morning.

Crews responded around 6:30 a.m. to the house fire on Jersey Avenue, reporting the man was conscious, alert and receiving care from paramedics as firefighters soon moved in to douse the flames, according to St. Cloud Fire Rescue.

The scene was still considered active around 8 a.m., at which time the city fire marshal had arrived to determine the cause of the fire, the department said on social media. The fire covered portions of the home’s living area and garage, yet it wasn’t known whether the home had functioning smoke detectors, according to the thread.

The St. Cloud Fire Department thanked Osceola County Fire Rescue for assisting at the scene, adding American Red Cross of Central Florida was helping to coordinate housing assistance for the rescued occupant.
