Suspect in overnight Deltona home burglary arrested, deputies say

DELTONA, Fla. – The suspect in an overnight home burglary has been taken into custody, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office on Friday.

In a release, deputies said that the suspect was identified as 18-year-old Dominic Adams.

Deputies said the burglary happened overnight last week at a home in Deltona, with security footage catching the suspect entering the home as the resident was asleep.

“The victim was not aware of the burglary until she woke up in the morning and noticed several doors in her home were ajar,” detectives stated.

At the time, detectives said the same suspect was believed to be involved in vehicle burglaries and other attempted burglaries along Applegate Terrace and Armadillo Drive.

Adams faces charges of burglary, grand theft, two counts of armed burglary of a vehicle, and four counts of vehicle burglary. He is held on a bond of $65,000.

According to the sheriff’s office, additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
