The Daytona Beach Police Department on May 11, 2023 — the day after Cabiac was reportedly fired from Father Lopez Catholic High School — was contacted by the parent of a student who had previously enrolled at the school, a news release states. This prompted an extensive investigation into an alleged sexual offence that occurred more than a year prior between Cabiac and a now-graduated student, police said.

A warrant was issued March 11 for Cabiac’s arrest, according to the release. Cabiac turned himself in March 21 and has since posted a $250,000 bond, police said.

Anyone with information related to the investigation is encouraged to call the police department’s Criminal Investigations Division at 368-671-5202.
