MARION COUNTY, Fla. – An elderly woman was rescued from a burning house early Sunday near Summerfield, according to Marion County Fire Rescue.

Crews responded around 3:30 a.m. to the 9900 block of SE 169th Lane after several 911 callers reported the home was fully involved in flames and that the woman was probably still inside, the fire department said on social media.

Firefighters deployed a hose line and started attacking the flames as others began to search for the woman, soon locating her and getting her out of the home. The woman was taken to a hospital as a trauma alert, the post states.

The fire was brought under control at 4:24 a.m. with no injuries of firefighters reported, according to the department.

The State Fire Marshal’s office is still investigating the cause.
