KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Kissimmee police announced that remains have been discovered during the search for a missing 25-year-old woman.
In a release, police said Claudia Pena was last seen by her family on April 6 in the area of Pesca Drive and Baleno Lane in Kissimmee.

According to police, Pena was driving a blue 2009 Nissan Sentra with the Florida tag 561-8TD. Her vehicle was last seen near St. Cloud, police said.
However, police later announced that the car was discovered elsewhere in the county.

The remains of two people were found in a wooded area near the vehicle, and the clothing on one of the remains is “consistent” with Pena, police explained.
The release says that neither of the remains has been positively identified at this time and both are pending an examination by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
In the meantime, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is taking over the investigation, police said.
No other details have been released.
