16-year-old girl missing out of New Smyrna Beach last seen entering SUV, police say

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – New Smyrna Beach police announced Friday that officers were searching for a missing 16-year-old girl who was last seen entering an SUV.

Zaniyah Brazel was last seen Monday evening near the 500 block of Charlovix street entering a tan-colored SUV being operated by a heavyset white male with facial hair, police said on social media. There were no indications that the vehicle was part of a ride-hailing service, such as Uber or Lyft, according to the post.

Brazel is described as being 5 feet, 8 inches tall, last seen wearing a black crop top, black leggings, a black baseball cap and black and green marble Crocs.

She left her cellphone at home and her family has not been able to contact her through other means, police said, adding that while Brazel has run away from home in the past, it’s never been for this long.
