‘Fences are melted:’ Firefighters contain harsh brush fire in Kissimmee

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Crews in Kissimmee managed to contain a brush fire on Friday evening.

The brush fire was located along Orange Blossom Trail near Osceola Parkway.

Kissimmee Fire Chief Joe Maloney confirmed that a 10-acre fire had initially burned through the brush near North Orange Blossom Trail and West Osceola Parkway on Friday evening.

No structures burned, but the fire did burn the fence line.

“The fences are melted to the ground,” Maloney said. “Value your firefighters, guys. They did a tremendous job today and they saved property.”

The fire has been fully contained, though no information on the cause of the fire has yet been provided.
