Investigators announced that the “adult male shooter” received treatment at the scene for a “minor injury,” and he was set to be interviewed by detectives.
In an update Friday, the sheriff’s office identified the woman as Monica Robarge, 40, and the shooter as Robarge’s boyfriend, adding the boyfriend “indicated that he shot Robarge in self-defense during an altercation.”
He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained during the incident and declined to speak further with detectives without an attorney present.
He has not been charged at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing.
Robarge’s next of kin responded to the scene prior to detectives’ arrival and was aware of the fatal shooting.
There were no prior law enforcement contacts at the address and no previous reports of domestic violence involving the couple. The investigation is continuing, and additional updates will be provided as the investigation allows.
