Search for missing girl in Edgewater leads to arrest of man accused of traveling to meet her

Kaden Schienle, 18, intercepted on I-95, police say

EDGEWATER, Fla. – An 18-year-old man arrested Monday is accused of driving from Michigan to Edgewater in an attempt to meet with a missing girl, according to police.

Kaden Schienle, 18, was intercepted while traveling southbound on Interstate 95 after police received a 911 call reporting the minor was missing, the Edgewater Police Department said on social media.

Investigators determined Schienle had traveled overnight as the girl left her residence in the early morning hours without her parents’ knowledge, the post states.

The police department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Target Impact Unit worked with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office to stop Schienle’s vehicle as it traveled into the sheriff’s office’s jurisdiction, according to the post.

Schienle faces charges of traveling to meet/lure a child after using a computer and depriving the custody of a minor, booked Monday night and given a $15,000 bond amount, records show.
