Boil water notice issued for parts of Flagler County

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A boil water notice has been issued for parts of Flagler County the day before Thanksgiving, according to the the Florida Governmental Utility Authority.

FGUA officials said Wednesday that the loss of power at the Plantation Bay Water Treatment Plant caused the boil water notice.

According to a news release, the advisory affects 1,973 customers from the Plantation Bay System in Plantation Bay, but exact streets and addresses were not provided.

FGUA’s website shows that the Plantation Bay System is located at at 1600 S. Dixie Highway in Bunnell.

Officials said that water samples will be sent to an independent laboratory, and the advisories be rescinded once the samples indicate the water is safe to drink.

Affected customers will be notified promptly, according to the release.
