ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A fire broke out Monday morning at an apartment complex along Americana Boulevard in Orange County.
Orange County Fire Rescue said firefighters responded to the blaze just before 5 a.m. near Rio Grande Avenue.
“It was a big fire; it got up a second alarm. Kept us busy during the morning,” Orange County Fire Rescue Assistant Public Information Officer David Palomino said. “You never know when you’ll have a morning like this, but fortunately our units were ready to respond and to assist the residents of Orange County.”
The fire happened in one of the two-story buildings, officials said, with a 911 caller reporting “fire and smoke extending from first floor to second floor.”
Everyone made it out of the building safely.
“Fortunately no injuries, no one was transported [to the hospital],” Palomino explained.
The Red Cross said it would provide resources, shelter and other necessities to those affected.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
This is a developing story, it will be updated with more information as we receive it.
