VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A school nurse at New Smyrna Beach High School faces charges after being accused of traveling to meet a minor, according to jail records.

According to Leggett’s arrest report from Ormond Beach police, investigators caught him in his car with the student outside of the teen’s workplace. Their report showed the teen’s coworkers alerted the teen’s parents who called the police.

Leggett told investigators he was visiting the teen’s business to get a discount, and they were just talking but the teen told police when questioned that they had a romantic and sexual relationship that started with kissing at school and escalated.

Officials with Volusia County Schools confirmed Leggett was a contracted school nurse at New Smyrna Beach High School.
