Now that the holidays are over, it is time to take down the lights, decorations and the Christmas tree.
If you are planning on tackling this task this weekend and live in the Palm Coast area, you can get the chance to exchange your Christmas tree for a new tree, per a news release.

The city is hosting its annual recycling event at the Fuel Depot at 22 Utility Drive from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The Christmas tree needs to be free of lights, ornaments, tinsel and other decorations, the news release states.
In exchange, the city will give you a free three-gallon tree or shrub, according to the news release. The recycled Christmas trees then get turned into mulch for the city’s parks and trails. “This event is a great opportunity to start the year fresh, help the environment, and give back to the community,” Urban Forester for the city, Carol Mini said in a prepared statement. “Don’t miss your chance to grab a free tree or shrub and be part of Palm Coast’s commitment to sustainability. We look forward to seeing you there!”
