DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A woman was injured in a robbery-turned-shooting out of Daytona Beach earlier this week, leading to a search for the suspects involved, according to the police department.
In an incident report, police said they responded to an intersection near 1820 Legends Lane on Monday around 6:43 p.m. after getting a call about the shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found the woman lying next to a dark Mercedes, and she told them that she’d been shot by “an unknown male” in front of her apartment building, police added.
The report shows she claimed to have been robbed of her purse — which held $3,000 in cash — and was pistol-whipped and shot during the encounter. She was later taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to investigators, the woman didn’t know who the two suspects who attacked her were, but a witness informed detectives that both of them were “wearing dark clothing and ski masks.”
The witness also told detectives that one of the suspects, described as a “taller male,” had pointed a pistol at her, which caused the witness to run away, the report states.

“(The witness) states while running she heard a single gunshot then one more, and she then called 911,” the report reads.
Detectives said that several other witnesses reported seeing the two suspects flee in a blue four-door hatchback, possibly a Nissan Murano or Rogue. The vehicle allegedly had black wheels and dark, tinted windows.
In addition, detectives said they learned that the car was last spotted heading north on Bill France Avenue from Legends Lane.
As of the time of the incident report, deputies said the injured woman was still in stable condition.
