DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A person of interest has been identified in a fatal shooting reported early Saturday out of Daytona Beach, according to police.
Officers responded around 12:18 a.m. to a “large physical disturbance” reported in the area of Forest Glen Boulevard and Oak Tree Circle, the Daytona Beach Police Department said on social media.
While on the way, police were informed that someone had been shot, the post states, adding the shooting victim was located dead upon officers’ arrival.
Police said there was no threat to public safety and asked people to avoid the area while the investigation continued, requesting anyone with helpful information to contact them.
No further information had been shared or confirmed at the time of this report. Police said that a person of interest had been identified and found, yet specifics were not immediately available.
