‘World’s Most Famous Beach’ ramp reopens in Daytona well ahead of summer rush

Beach ramp was closed in June 2024

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – After months of construction, the International Speedway Boulevard Beach Ramp has officially reopened.

The beach ramp reopened on Saturday, April 5.

“They did their thing, they did a great job,” said Sam Tadros, owner of Sam’s Coal Fired Pizza. “They got us open before Jeep week, which is in two weeks, and before Easter and before the summer rush.”

Tadros made the decision to close for 10 months while the construction was happening on the ramp, but since it’s now reopened, they’re ready to welcome back customers.

“We were only open for two months,” Tadros said. “We took this place September 2023, renovated it. we didn’t open until April 4, June 9 we shut it down.”

Tadros said he’s concerned about parking options for customers. He’s hoping people will still come out for pizza and cheesesteaks.

“We want people to start coming out here,” Tadros said. “Yeah, you know, they did a great job. People just, you know, they owe it to the county to come out and give it a shot and try it.”

Keith McIntyre was here while the ramp was under construction last year. This year, it’s a different story.

“Oh, it’s awesome. It’s a shortcut for me,” McIntyre said. “I used to have to go up to Silver Beach so now it’s a little more convenient.”

People who want to visit the beach ramp or others in Volusia County can either pay a $30 daily fee for on-beach driving rates, $20 for off-beach parking rates, or apply online for the new virtual ParkVolusia permit.
