According to the Melbourne Fire Department, the fire was “in a dense area with a lot of vegetation.” The department was assisted by the Florida Forestry Service and Brevard County Fire Rescue.
“We have fire engines staged next to the structures (buildings) in close proximity to the fire, and they are ready to protect the buildings should the fire move closer,” the department said in a statement.
