DELTONA, Fla. – Deltona Commissioner Anita Bradford is resigning, effectively immediately, and now the city has to find someone to fill her seat for the rest of her term in office.

Bradford was a two-term commissioner for District 2, representing the northwest part of the city. In her resignation letter to the city, she cited personal reasons for the resignation, according to officials.

The city commission now has until Jan. 29 to vote on a replacement, and the city is accepting applications.

Candidates seeking to qualify for the job must be a resident of the district for the previous six months and must maintain residency within the boundaries of their district. You can see the district boundaries on the map on the Deltona website.

If you are interested in running for the seat, you can send a resume or letter of interest to the city clerk’s office via email at jraftery@deltonafl.gov. The deadline to apply is noon on Monday, Jan. 22.

The person who gets the seat will be required to serve until the end of the term, which is in November 2024.
